David
zings Goliath, again.
KB
Home has been after home-owner activist Janet Ahmad
for a long time. She has been very critical of the
sales and building practices of the construction
giant. Ahmad tells stories of threats, intimidation
and dirty dealing.
Even
as KB flunky and ex-convict Henry Cisneros was
touting the "value" of KB homes on local
TV, Ahmad was demonstrating that a KB development
near Dallas was built on an old military bombing
range which had not
been cleaned up despite KB's assurance to buyers that
it was safe. The trouble started when an old bomb was
found in the development and Ahmad and two other
women were beginning to hand out fliers in the KB
subdivision. KB called the police and claimed that
the bomb found at a building site had been planted by
Ahmad, though many such bombs had been found before.
And
since.
She
was charged and indicted after KB mounted a huge
campaign aimed at pressuring the DA and the courts to
crucify her. She is currently being sued by KB to the
tune of $20 million because of her criticisms of what
she calls shady practices and shoddy construction.
The Snitch has learned that KB representatives may
have gone as far as offering "bribes and
incentives" to potential witnesses to
"nail" Ahmad, according to well placed
sources and documents seen by the Snitch.
The
Tarrant DA's office, on review, decided that there
had been no
criminal offense, and last week asked for the charges
to be dismissed.
In a press
release, Ahmad's attorney Mark Daniel said "It
is regrettable that KB Home sought to bring a
baseless criminal prosecution in an effort to gain
leverage and silence her efforts."
According
to the Express-News: "David Christian, the
homebuilder's Dallas division president, stressed
that " Tarrant County, not KB Home, brought
criminal charges against Ms Ahmad.''

In coming
days the Political Snitch will show you what happened
behind the scenes and document the hard-ball tactics
KB Home uses to try to silence critics. We'll also
show you how at least one large daily newspaper was
happy to get in bed with them.
KB Home is
offered unedited space in the publication to respond.
Oh mama!
